Auto shops pay too much for cards. Big tickets, big markup.

A $2,400 repair at 3.6% costs you $86 in fees. At 2.1% it's $50. Across a month of big tickets that gap is real money, and most shops never see it because the statement hides it. Check your shop's rate below.

Will I have to retrain my front desk?

No. On the Rochester shop we swapped the terminal for the same model, so there was nothing new to learn. The only thing that changed was the rate.

Do you work with body shops and insurance work?

Yes. Body shops, mechanics, tire shops, truck accessory and install shops. Two Rochester auto repair shops ran at 2.32% and 2.03% all-in in August.

What does it cost?

Cost-plus: the card brands' cost passed through, plus 0.15% and a few cents per transaction. No long-term contract, no termination fee, PCI is $129 a year and terminals are included.

What if my rate is already good?

Then the calculator will say so, and so will I. Some shops already have a fair deal, and I tell them to stay put.
